About Us
Wilson R/C Modelers Association Adkins Field

The Wilson Radio Control Model Association club is a group of people interested in flying radio controlled model airplanes and model helicopters. The main purpose of the club is to have available a safe flying field from which to fly our models. In order to fly at the field, club members must also be members in good standing of the Academy of Models Aeronautics, known as the AMA. Our club was started in 1972. In that time our flying field has changed seven times. Having a good flying field is the most difficult part of this hobby. In 2006 our field was dedicated to Charles Adkins one of the founding members. We currently are located at 2649 Commerce Road, just off Wilco Boulevard, in Wilson NC. We have been there since the spring of 1986.

We also have Flight instruction available, offering two programs. One is volunteer instructors for club members and the second is an Introductory Pilot program for non-members.
